The Spencer Family YMCA is happy to introduce Nesha Thompson as the new Director of Dance! 

The YMCA Dance Program has many levels to offer. You can enroll your child for dance at the age of 3. There are various styles of dance that the Dance Program has to offer. There is Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Pointe classes, and Dance Force the high school dance team.

Nesha Thompson is married to her husband, Troy, and has three children, Drew age 10, Josie age 6 and Annabelle age 2.  She has been dancing, choreographing and teaching for over 20 years.  Nesha founded the Step by Step Dance Studio in Council Bluffs, IA where she taught tap, jazz, ballet and pointe to over 150 students.  She is a graduate of Buena Vista University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications.  While attending college she was a three year member of the BVU Dance Team and Cheerleading Squad, serving as co-captain and choreographer.  Through out her dancing career she has received numerous honors from competitions around the country.  Nesha’s teaching philosophy is to provide students with technique and performance skills while encouraging them to reach their greatest potential.

Dancer

Dance Attire:

All students please wear leotards and tights to class. Supplies can be ordered through Tracy. Hair should be up in a ponytail or bun.



Gymnastics

Gymnastics Attire:

Girls: All students please wear leotards. Hair should be up in a ponytail and away from the face. No jewelry

Boys: All students should wear a T-shirt, shorts. gymnastics
  The YMCA has a Progressive Gymnastics Program. Children can start at the age of 3 and take classes all the way up to 12th grade..
